Photography 20 -Line / some framing

These photos were my line attempts, as well as some framing photos. The first six were taken at school, and aren't the greatest. It's difficult finding a subject and then having lines that draw one towards that subject. Some of my later photos in this set are of the same subject, as for these school ones, they're all different.

The horizontal line and the church were the main points in me taking this picture

I took this one because of the diagonal lines leading towards the Fire Cabinet sign

This one is a repetition photo, however I forgot that we were suppose to have 20 photos of the same subject for the repetition photos, thus I am doing the Shape / repetition photos as a separate post which will be uploaded soon.

An attempt at a horizontal line / framing, not very good in my opinion.

Horizontal, or kind of diagonal lines with a blurry person that I tired to sneak a photo of.

Horizontal line with Ginger

The line between the white and grey and Ginger's position is what I was trying to achieve in this photo.

Diagonal line towards Bonnie

Vertical line or vertical bar leading down towards Bonnie.

Again, I forgot that the repetition photos were part of a separate project, well the Shape part, thus I didn't take 20 photos of the same subject. Nonetheless, I decided to include 2 of the ones that I took at the same time as I took the majority of the rest of these photos. I thought this one looked better in black and white

This was supposed to be a vertical line of the wall downwards to Bonnie, but I couldn't really get close enough to the wall without Bonnie moving out of the way. She's very polite, always moving out of the way when people are walking, unlike Ginger who could care less if she's lying in the middle of someone's path.

Diagonal line towards Bonnie

This one doesn't have much to do with line, other than the curved line of the trampoline, I include this one because my goal was to get Ginger to try and bite the end of the stick, while having the rest of the stick act as a vertical line along with the curved trampoline line. Alas, Ginger never took the bait.

I thought this photo would look good in black and white, the diagonal wood lines are what make this photo interesting I find.

I thought this one was cute, though it doesn't have much to do with line. The stick and drainpipe behind Ginger act as diagonal lines, but they don't really lead the viewer to the subject.

Framing with Ginger

The next two are vertical line photos, with the sunlight acting as my vertical line down Bonnie's face.

An attempt at framing with Ginger being a goof as usual

Diagonal lines, but not really leading to any subject

I purposely make the exterior of the window over-exposed so that more attention could be drawn to the flowers and the vertical line behind it.

One of my favourites, diagonal line.

horizontal lines and diagonal leading lines, but to no real subject. However, I've found that the second bright light seems to act as a subject or focal point for me.

I saw a number of line photos on Google about stairs, and seeing as how I live in a bungalow, I don't have really nice stairs besides my basement stairs. I don't think this one is as good as I hoped it would be.

The vertical lines didn't come out very well in this photo.

I like this one because of the interesting pattern and cool objects that I chose to be in it. Perhaps the dice symbolize time or the days left until the egg hatches.

Framing, not as nice as the Spanish one shown in class though. Obviously a tree in my backyard isn't as interesting as the skyline of Seville.

Diagonal or vertical lines leading down towards my family's klompens. I'm Dutch and proud of it, so I took some photos of my dad's klompens. Klompens are traditional Dutch clogs or wooden shoes. The pair that my family had belonged to my dad when he was a kid and I guess he passed them down to my older brother who kept them / keeps them in his room. When we were kids and our feet could actually fit into them, we would used to walk around in them. My Opa (Dutch for grandfather or grandpa) was an artist and he painted the design on the shoes which include a Dutch and Canadian flag, symbolizing when he, my Oma (grandma), my dad and his brother all immigrated to Canada and became Canadians.

Thank you Ginger for ruining my shot >_<

Vertical line and one of the klompens. I meant for the vertical line to be more to left though.

proud to be Dutch.

Ginger, convex curved line and the klompens.

Good horizontal lines and good use of colour. The bold red really matches with the yellow clogs.

I love this one because of Ginger's face, the perfect convex or parabola like line and of course, the klompens. I like how just the Dutch flag / Canadian flag part of them can be seen.

I thought this one would also look good in Black and White, it's also one of my favourites

I included this one because the horizon line of my lawn acts as a horizontal line, as well as the slightly curved pavement line below.

The stick acts as a horizontal line in this photo and the one below it.

My favourite ^

I don't like this one and the one below it a lot. I only include them because of the lines, in this case the horizontal / diagonal line leading towards the egg.

The Chess set has an interesting patten, but other then that, I don't really like this photo.

This was a fun assignment, photos of Shape will be uploaded soon.
