Photography 20 -Low lighting portraits / chiaroscuro

More low lighting photos, this time of a basket and a few portraits. I really enjoyed the whole set up for these photos, it was very cool. We had a large black drape that we hung in a dark section of the art room. We also used a number of different light sources and experimented with different settings to try and get a good dark, dramatic, low lit photo.
This first photo was my mistake. It was the first photo I took and I hadn't changed my ISO and shutter speed. If I remember correctly, I changed everything to ISO 400 and I changed to Shutter priority mode. For I (like other groups) found that I got better shots under that mode than on Aperture mode, which the photo above was on under. I believe my shutter speed was 1/50 or lower, and that was to get the nice dark, dramatic shots that I got below.

Thank you Kate for being the model for my shots.

And to Ali, or Ally...not sure how to spell her name. I've heard it spelt both ways before in my life

All in all, this project has been among my favourites to do. It was a fun experience in setting up everything, even though Connor organized most of the equipment before I even arrived.
